CANOVANAS

Called "La Cuna de los Indios". It is also know as "La Ciudad de las Carreras" (race horse town) because of its race track call "El Comandante". Canóvanas was founded in 1909 by Juan R. Calderón. Canóvanas derives its name from a local Indian chief Canobaná (Canovanax).
