Ismael Miranda, nació en Aguada, Puerto Rico. Mostrando desde pequeño interés por la música, a los 11 años formó parte de grupos de vocalización llamados "The 4 J's" y "Little Jr. and the Class Mates". Participó con ellos en varias actividades, incluyendo una de las primeras ediciones del espectáculo que celebraba Jerry Lewis para la Distrofia Muscular en Palm Gardens.
En su continuo interés por la música, sobre todo el género afroantillano, formó parte del Sexteto Pipo y su Combo y del grupo Andy Harlow y su Sexteto. En el mismo cantó y tocó conga. En 1967 hizo su primera grabación discográfica con Joey Pastrana titulada "Let's Ball". En ésta el entonces adolescente Ismael se anotó su primer éxito radial con "Rumbón melón".
Con la buena impresión que causó sus actuaciones con Andy harlow, el hermano de éste, larry, decidió reclutarlo para su orquesta. Ismael Miranda inició su ciclo de grabaciones con el llamado "Judío Maravilloso" en el álbum "El exigente". Convencido del potencial del joven cantante, en 1968 Larry lanzó una nueva producción titulada "Orquesta Harlow presenta a Ismael Miranda". Y a renglón seguido, los aciertos se repitieron disco tras disco con las grabaciones "Electric", "Tribute to Arsenio Rodríguez", "Harlow's Harem", "Abran paso" y "Oportunidad".
Con Larry Harlow Ismael incursionó también en el campo de la composición, compartiendo créditos con éste en los temas "La revolución", "Guasasa", "Arsenio", "El malecón" y "Lamento cubano", entre otros.
A la edad de 19 años se integra a las Estrellas de Fania convirtiéndose en el cantante más joven que componían este grupo, ganándose el mote de "El Niño Bonito de la Salsa".
En pleno auge de la salsa, Ismael irrumpió con fuerza espectacular en las ondas en 1973 al lanzar al mercado la producción "Así se compone un son". Este disco, editado por el sello Fania, marcó el inicio del cantante con su propia agrupación, la Orquesta Revelación. Con ellos tomó por asalto la cuenca del Caribe, los mercados latinos de los Estados Unidos y Europa.
Posteriormente su carrera le dio innumerables aciertos en la música. Temas como "La cama vacía", "La copa rota", "Borinquen tiene montuno", "Como mi pueblo" y "Las cuarentas" le ganaron amplia difusión radial.
En la composición también se anotó éxitos como "Señor sereno", "Abren paso", "Así se compone un son", "Lupe, Lupe" y "Pa' bravo yo", esta última popularizada por el sonero cubano Justo Betancourt.
En la década del 80 grabó varias producciones con su sello discográfico independiente. En 1986 su grabación "Versos de nuestra cultura" junto al cantautor José Nogueras fue uno de los grandes aciertos de la temporada navideña de ese año.
En 1988 anunció su intención de retirarse de los medios artísticos. Pero esa idea nunca llegó a cristalizarse.
Entrados los años 90, Ismael ha grabado con su propio sello discográfico, IM Records, y con la compañía RMM. Y en las postrimerías de la década su unión a Andy Montrañez en un proyecto discográfico de boleros del ayer, ha dado ya tres exitosas producciones en suelo nacional.

Ismael Miranda, was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico. Showing from small interest by music, to the 11 years it was member of groups of vocalization called "The 4 J's" and "Little Jr and the Class Mates". It participated with them in several activities, including one of first editions of the spectacle that Jerry celebrated Lewis for the Muscular Dystrophy in Palm Gardens.
In its continuous interest by music, mainly the afroantillano sort, comprised of the Sexteto Pipo and its Stand for casks and of the group Andy Harlow and its Sexteto. In the same one it sang and it touched conga. In 1967 first record recording with Joey titled Pastrana "Let's Ball" did his. In this one then the adolescent Ismael wrote down its first radial success with "Rumbón melon".
With the good impression that caused its performances with Andy Harlow, the brother of this one, larry, decided to recruit it for his orchestra. Ismael Miranda initiated its cycle of recordings with the Wonderful "Jewish" call in the album "the demanding one". Convinced of the potential of the young singer, in 1968 Larry it sent to a new titled production "Harlow Orchestra presents/displays to Ismael Miranda". And immediately afterwards, the successes repeated disc after disc with the recordings "Electric", "Pays to Arsenio Rodriguez", "Harlow's Harem", "They open to step" and "Opportunity".
With Larry Harlow Ismael incursionó also in the field of the composition, sharing credits with this one in the subjects "the revolution", "Guasasa", "Arsenio", "the levee" and "Cuban Moan", among others.
At the age of 19 years Integra to Stars of Fania becoming the singer younger than they composed this group, gaining mote of "the Pretty Boy of the Sauce".
In the heat of height of the sauce, Ismael burst in with spectacular force into the waves into 1973 when sending to the market the production "Therefore it is made up are". This disc, published by the Fania seal, marked the beginning of the singer with its own grouping, the Orchestra Revelation. With them it took by assault the river basin from the Caribbean, the Latin markets of the United States and Europe.

In the decade of the 80 it recorded several productions with its independent record seal. In 1986 its recording "Verses of our culture" next to the cantautor Jose Nogueras was one of the great successes of the season navideña of that year.
In 1988 it announced his intention to retire of artistic means. But that idea never got to be crystallized.
Entered years 90, Ismael has
recorded with its own record seal, IM Record, and with company RMM. and in the
last years of the decade its union to Andy Montrañez in a record project of
boleros of yesterday, has already given three successful national ground
productions.
